Royal British Legion Muswell Hill & Highgate Branch Remembrance Service
Time & Location
About The Event
It has been a tradition with this branch of The Royal British Legion, ever since the end of WW2, to hold the service of remembrance the week before the official Remembrance Service each November, as on the return from war (to dear old England) the soldiers and families wanted to attend the parade in London on Remembrance Sunday and march past the Cenotaph, which meant that no service took place for the people living in Muswell Hill.
The then Chairman of the Branch, being himself a veteran of the WW2, organised the very first parade of thanksgiving for the end of WW1/WW2 in 1947.
